The Commonwealth of Australasia is a federal capitalist state located in Oceania, predominantly to the south of the Indonesian archipelago and East Asia, and spans a vast territory including the mainland of Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, New Guinea, Timor, New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands......

The majority of the population in Australia and New Zealand were formerly made up of European settlers and their descendants during British colonial rule. However, Australia opened up to non-white and particularly Asian immigration following the replacement of the "White Australia" policy with the "Populate or Perish" policy in 1936. This move was in part because right-wingers sought to build Australasia into an anti-communist stronghold in the face of fears over the growth of Comintern naval presence in the Pacific. Following the Empire of Japan's defeat in World War II, this trend accelerated as much of East Asia fell under Comintern control, with Australasia responding to the situation by welcoming large numbers of right-wing and bourgeois Asian migrants. Today, East Asians make up a plurality among Australasia's ethnic make-up. In addition to whites and East Asians, there are also significant populations of Indians, Africans and indigenous Australians and Pacific Islanders.

Today, Australasia is considered to be a developed country and boasts one of the world's largest capitalist economies, although some regions such as New Guinea and former Indonesian islands tend to be poorer and less developed than the "heart" of the federation in Australia and New Zealand. It is considered one of the major powers of the Alliance of Free States and is an important geopolitical asset for the bloc within the Asia-Pacific region.
