Canada was a country located in North America, to the north of the United Republics. Following the loss of the Thirteen Colonies in the American War of Independence, Britain would retain territory situated to the north of the Great Lakes, which would form the basis for the Canadian Confederation, established in 1867.
Following the Second American Revolution, Canada would remain a capitalist state, retaining very close ties with the British Empire as a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The status quo prevailed through the 1930s and World War II, through to the Cold War, where it became a point of contention between the two power blocs...
